fun w/ the sircam trojan (#1 virus in the us right now):

I’ve recieved a ton of these mails. Copy the attachments to your favourite *nix box and run:

dd if=infected.doc.exe of=clean.doc bs=1 skip=137216

The virus actually mails you real files, appended to the end of the virus code. The dd command skips the virus code.

Now I’m looking forward to recieving more – kind of like a “book of the month” club!

The FBI would play cat and mouse against their “evil” (probably back then they indeed were more sinister) KGB counterparts.

Now we have a scientist from democratic Russia, working for a company with ex-KGB affiliations, jailed by FBI, the guardians of ultra-capitalistic USA. And FBI is now the the state organ protecting state-approved monopoly on information claimed by US-based Adobe Corporation. National Profit comes before Scientific (or personal) Freedom.

apparently i’ve found the perfect popping time for my roommate’s microwave. 1:54 of nuking left me with every single kernel popped (one popped as i took it out) and not a single piece burnt. suffice to say, i’m pretty impressed. i don’t think i’ve ever had a perfect bag before. correction: there were a few unpopped kernels it turns out, just not in the bag or the bottom of the bowl i poured it into…

i’m sorry, this spanish class i’m taking really takes a toll on me for some reason. i don’t think i’m really capable of any deep thoughts after a day of class. it’s really horrible. completely fries my brain.
