so, i got back from taiwan, safe and sound, which was a great experience. i suppose i’ll write more about it and post up pictures when i have some time to unwind. but, i have some major work to do over the next few days…

so i decided to buy an ibook, but um, it’s sort of a joke. osx barely runs, so i’m not very hopeful. truthfully, i don’t need much, just a machine that can run for a few hours between charges and can run apache and emacs. well, we’ll see how it goes this weekend i suppose. i’m glad i bought this at a place i can return this though. i’m 99% sure it’s going back after my trip.

speaking of my trip, after a few hours on and off priceline i was able to get a ticket, from LAX to Bradley for a friend’s wedding for this weekend. originally i was bidding $150, and while i suspect that eventually might have come through, i was getting a bit impatient. all in all, not a bad deal.

i am mosquito meat. the score, about 8 to 1. they’re winning

in other news, i finally got to see code red up close. one of my uncle’s friends owns an internet cafe and they need some help cleaning codered 2/3 from their w2k server.

so now i get to play away for free, although i discovered that playing cs is difficult when you can’t understand the screens to reassign the keys.

oh my sides. i can’t stop laughing. it’s the real title. i won’t spoil it, you wouldn’t believe me anyway. go to the site for the title of episode ii.

man, and people thought the phantom menace was a “bad” title. i can’t wait until the third title. at this rate it’ll probably be more entertaining then all the prequels put together.

heh, match the goonies of yesteryear with them today. pretty darn neat. (according to imdb, they’re all pretty much in their 30s, also, apparently, short round graduated from usc, heheh.) i will miss my lan connection. i’m moving out on wednesday. (and almost done packing!)

oh, the nostalgia above should not be misconstrued as any sort of endorsement for the sequel. it’ll most likely be a horrible, horrible movie.

a 30day trial version of luratech’s jpeg2000 photoshop plugin is now available for d/l. for those not in the know, jpeg2000 is a recently approved image standard that’s all kinds of keen: wavelet compression (way better than jpeg’s old dct), streaming (variable length data truncation), lossy or lossless coding, palletized color, multicomponent/region coding, and up to 256 channels (alpha, colospace,) blah blah blah).
