neet.
if you break it down to pure ethical question, i think dave may be right about a microsoft breakup being not nearly enough.
blech. i lost all my cookies. very annoying. and my icq hasn’t been opening for the past few days. just tries to connect, all the while sucking 95%+ cpu cycles until it locks up my system.
here’s a little piece in yesterday’s usa today that asks the question, what if microsoft hadn’t been a bully?
sometimes dvorak talks out of his ass, but sometimes he doesn’t.
Here’s the thing: Microsoft has a war chest of some $20 billion dollars that it can use to go out and buy companies left and right, but there are no companies left to buy! All the real innovators have gone into other markets. And if Microsoft tried to buy into a new market such as CAD/CAM or embedded systems, its own executives would ruin the acquisitions. It’s a lose-lose situation.
these doj vs microsoft joke images are mildly humorous. i like the monopoly cards. the santa one is pretty good as well.
