just to reiterate, primeco has some of the most moronic, unhelpful, uninformed, and just plain bad customer service i’ve had the pleasure of ever experiencing.

nice summary of music industry math by courtney love and insightful comments on music publishing in the digital age. she also mentions how the riaa pushed a work-for-hire amendment through congress (mentioned earlier).
courtney love has earned some major respect from me.

Battlefield Earth
Budget: $73 million. Gross through June 4th: $21 million. Watching Scientologist John Travolta’s pet project go down in flames: priceless.
m$ goes to appeals court. phroggy summarizes:
If they lose all appeals and the Supreme Court upholds Jackson’s ruling, then then MS-OS (a.k.a. Windows, Inc.) is pretty much stuck with just selling, supporting and developing Windows on a vaguely even level with Linux and other operating systems (Apple may be persuaded to release an Intel port of Mac OS X; who knows). However, MS-AP (a.k.a. Microsoft, Inc.) will take everything else, including Office, Internet Explorer, Media Player, Direct X, Next Generation Windows Services (NGWS), the X-Box, whole shebang – and will have nothing to stop them from being completely and totally evil.

the clouds outside were really striking. unfortunately, my shots didn’t come out that great (too much dynamic range) and i got half eaten alive by mosquitoes for the 5 minutes that i was outside.
if i played around w/ photoshop a little i could probably get something decently good out of it, at least slightly resembling what the scene actually felt like. (surprisingly bright at 8pm, slightly hazy, luminous clouds rising from the horizon.
funky capitalization aside, i’m element 104. thanks nikolai
