yahoo just put up some pics of u2 in miami opening their elevation 2001 tour a little while ago. there’s a show review at u2.com and on wire (u2 fan mailing list). more fun stuff at youtwo.net and @u2. it’s funny because while the domain names have changed, i remember hanging on the mailing list and visiting youtwo.net (prarit’s u2news) and @u2 (matt mcgee’s site) back in 96… hmm, i think it’s too early in my life for me to be getting nostalgic. i’m sure it’s not healthy.

wow, this is so bladerunner… or something sci-fi… Researchers Find Big Risk of Defect in Cloning Animals

All the evidence so far, scientists say, indicates that the breathtakingly rapid reprogramming in cloning can introduce random errors into the clone’s DNA, subtly altering individual genes with consequences that can halt embryo or fetal development, killing the clone. Or the gene alterations may be fatal soon after birth or lead to major medical problems later in life.

instead of getting work done this afternoon, I ended up watching tlc all afternoon. i caught most of 3 episodes of this series called the science of beauty. the first episode was about sexual selection and conceptions of beauty (art and sexual selection), the second was on faces in particular (faces and fractal geometry), and the third episode was on methods of beautification, which covered makeup, photo manipulation (howtos), and

other types of body modification. the last episode also facilely addressed the extropian ideas, and where the future may take us. i was disappointed by their summary blurb that basically said that evolution would correct for whatever decisions we make. the changes that have been happening over the past few decades and that are accelerating over the next few decades are not happening on an evolutionary timescale… anyway.

hmm, do i add the overlib to all my links, and create even more work, or do i find some other way to restructure my links, summary, and narrative to better manage my microcontent?
