so my latest two dvd’s arrived, and they both look spiffy, so i decided to mount them on these 95 cent ikea “raket” desk easel’s that i just got (first time actually stepping inside an ikea building this weekend). took a few mini-tripod shots, and did a bit of color correction to almost simulate the indirect halogen light (i got a long swing arm “antifone” lamp also, which has a 50w bulb, so that it’s bright enough for me when i point it straight up – i’d link to the lamp on the ikea site, but their site went from bad (you can almost find the stuff in their catalog and they’ll give you the price but you can’t buy anthing) to worse (everything’s broken, you can’t get to individual products either) – i have an interesting photo of the lamp/bulb too, but i’m too lazy to go through the whole editing process on that). anyway, the whole thing is stylish, although i guess it’s all gonna get cleared when my roommate doesn’t need my second monitor anymore and i get that back. hmm, too lazy to link in text. here’s the photo.

if you look closely in the photo, you’ll see i got the “dokument” organizer set, my car in the background, and also the hot pixels (still need to send my camera in) in the bottom left.

new album is bringing out the u2 fanatic in me. friday vh1 will be airing the the beautiful day video @ 2pm, and then an hour long video retrospective. it’s unfortunate that the u2 site still sucks. in fact, using it more’s it’s getting worse and worse (horrible usability problems – the iframes it loads up are modal, but there aren’t any visual cues that says this! icky.

i missed hearing bd on the radio this weekend (occupied), but i do have some (poor quality) mp3s now.

democracy and stupidity – this is a very interesting, if slightly loose, rambling and sometimes fallacious. worth the read for the thoughts it should spark though.

also from mefi, this was in a popular mechanics/science mag a two years ago – it’s about the oicw gun (with laser rangefinded grenades) etc. the funny thing is that they are the same photos as well.

sometimes, i get annoyed enough at ignorant posts to go through the trouble of joining and refuting them, but the feeling quickly passes. /me goes back to work .
