Stem Cell Mixing May Form a Human-Mouse Hybrid.
Dr. Irving L. Weissman, an expert on stem cells at Stanford University, said that making mice with human cells could be “an enormously important experiment,” but if conducted carelessly could lead to outcomes that are “too horrible to contemplate.” He gave as an extreme example the possibility that a mouse making human sperm might accidentally be allowed to mate with a mouse that had made its eggs from human cells.
[Insert witticism about parents being mice here].
The DigiBarn Computer Museum is an amazingly cool site. Among the vast amount of interesting stuff is a Newly Inspired Bushy Tree within Bruce Damer’s Personal Histories of the Desktop User Interface that traces GUI lineage up to the year 2000.
Tiring of a too slow TiBook, I decided to take one of them and throw Debian PPC on it. I used the Debian-iMac stuffit file to start the network install.
Since I had already gone through the mac-fdisk and yaboot stuff w/ Gentoo PPC, this was pretty easy. penguinppc.org is a great resource, as is TuxPPC.
