hmm, this is week old news, but i missed it, so maybe it’ll be useful. it looks like ian thomas, a scientist with the usgus was fired after psoting a map that showed the distribution of caribou calving areas in the arctic national wildlife refuge (anwr). this of course is where the bush admin is itching to start drilling in… in depth info at kuro5hin. depressing.
